Evelyn makes her way to Falkensteig village and stays at the local inn. At the inn, she meets an old man who seems very interested in her journey.
"What brings you to Falkensteig, young lady?" he asks.
Evelyn hesitates but then decides to hide in plain sight. "My German is not very good," she says. "I want to visit the old castle ruins nearby."
"Be careful," the old man warns. "The castle is said to be haunted. Many who go there never return."
Evelyn nods, but leaves to her room to rest. She sets for the castle the next day.
At the castle ruins, an arrow is suddenly shot towards her. A voice calls out, "Stop! Who are you?"
Evelyn raises her hands. "I'm Evelyn. I know the password. It's Aži Dahāka."
"You may pass," the voice replies. A shadow passes through the woods and disappears.
Evelyn continues towards the castle Sonnenwacht, known to the locals as Schattenburg, the "Castle of Shadows".
